Living the Dream

Wednesday brought another visit to the ER (see the Friday, May 2nd post titled Ride 'em cowboy for ER visit #1).

Will broke his wrist. He was at a friends house. He was "standing up in a swing, trying to balance himself with no hands" (parental confessional document transcript #1110). It didn't work out as he expected. He fell and landed with his weight on his wrist.

The picture is Will at the ER. He was pretty subdued until the pain medicine kicked in, then he was wired and wily. The Doctor told him the break would excuse him from school the next day, to which he responded, "I'm living the dream".

Today a visit to a specialist confirmed that the wrist needs surgery. The surgery is scheduled at high noon tomorrow (Friday). We will let you know how it goes.
